Redmist Destruction
Your Memory Remains
Having listened to their demo on myspace the poor performance on the night may not be entirely their fault, their demo doesn’t sound as weak as their show. This could possibly be down to an uninterested sound engineer.

Redmist Destruction
I was keen to check out their debut show to see what ex-Revenance guitarist Ryan Colwell was up to since the demise of his previous band. I was not overly impressed with the vocals but musically they did not disappoint, starting a reasonably threatening looking circle pit within the first song.

As Horizons Fade
The crowd had significantly thinned by this point and the band played to about ten people. It was evident this affected their performance given a decent crowd, I would be interested to see what this band are capable of. Their vocalist can scream like a bastard, however the drumming was uninspired and sloppy. Though this did improve once the sound engineer gave the band what they wanted through their monitors. They would also benefit from recruiting a bassist to enhance the overall sound.

This review made me so angry I made a silly grammatical error! You awful person!
Your*
Well Dux what can I say. You are right I’m an clearly awful person. I should indeed feel terrible for making you so angry that you make typing errors while telling me off. If you attended the show feel free to submit your own review.

Lux … The paragraphs that were written by Deb was more than you have contrubuted on this site. You cant slate anybody on here, especially those who put in the effort in writing reviews.
This site isn’t a competition in who can produce the best work, or write the smartest sentences. It is a site in which fans come to read reviews/interviews, and get to chat to eachother about their experiences at gigs, and so on. It welcomes folk! So stop trying to push people away…
You obviously think you can do better, so why not give it a shot?
If you are just all talk, though (which seems to be the case), then would you leave your insults for a group that will argue back. Nobody who writes on this page will be put down by insults.
Adios.
Oooops… I meant ‘Dux’
I never said I could do better, but if anyone is going to attempt to review something (Or anything else for that matter, be it reviewing to singing. It doesn’t matter) needs to expect criticism.
See, Deb saw my post and read it. I like to think she took the criticism, despite me purposely not really posting any sort of advice on how to improve, and then trolled me back in good humor.
We then get to you Josh, I understand that this website isn’t a competition, in my post I did not mention that I was competing, nor did I even hint at my ability to do better. So it puzzles me as to where you got this idea from? If anything, I’m sticking by what you just wrote, we’re chatting, isn’t that great?
I’m not arguing, (Although I suppose now I am, aren’t I?) however let’s stray away from this hate, I can almost feel it from here. Let’s discuss the gig shall we?
I enjoyed it a lot, it was very good. Your Memory Remains I felt could have put a little bit more effort in, and I felt they sounded too much like Trivium for my liking. They need to pick up their instruments and stray away from sounding too much like another band, and write something that’s new and original. (Not like the band Through Her Eyes, where you can predict whats going to come next.) Without straying too far away from the genre they’re aiming at.
As for Redmist Destruction, what can I say? Not many bands can say they had a circle pit, mere seconds after the first song began to play. They were tight and sounded very good, my only criticism? The fuck up on the drums, hardly noticeable but it was there, props to the drummer though, as he pulled it back masterfully and handled the situation very well, still delivering a song that sounded very good.
As Horizons Fade, I felt sorry for these guys, I really did. It was very obvious that about 95% of the crowd were there just for Redmist, that must’ve felt bad for the AHF guys. However, because I’m such a gentlemen I stuck around (Bare in mind, I was only half listening as I had a task to complete at the time) and listened. I can’t really give these guys any criticism, they sounded aweful, however that could’ve been due to the sound man wanting to hurry and pack his things away and go home, or it could possibly be due to the band playing the lead singers girlfriend and her friends. I distinctively remember the lead singer asking “Where has everyone gone” in a voice that sounded on the verge on tears.
But regardless, I’ll check them out again and I will cast a proper judgment on them then, as for now, I stand by that they’re not for me.
Oh noes! lets all put down our handbags and just have a drink.
Dux, won’t you sign up and be a contributer?
Josh I will see you down the pub.
I’ll consider it, but I have the feeling that I will have yourself constantly breathing down my neck, waiting for me to muck up just that once so you can troll me in the same fashion.
What about my identity? I like the concept of being completely anonymous, will that be the case, still?
Consider… Well posting reviews in the comments It appears that you want to be involved. No?
If you contribute I promise not to make you cry little bitch tears with my critique of your efforts.
Though – “if anyone is going to attempt to review something (Or anything else for that matter, be it reviewing to singing. It doesn’t matter) needs to expect criticism.” someone, somewhere will think you are shit. Garrenteed.
Excuse me while I put some ice on that burn!
To be honest, It was never my intention to be involved, to be honest, I don’t really like any of the bands that have been listed on this site thus far, with the exception of redmist (Can’t beat some thrash metal, can we? Really?)
For the record, I wasn’t saying that I was scared of your criticism, if anything I encourage it! I was saying that whatever I post I expect you to run a very fine toothed comb through it, nit picking at every single spelling error, grammatical error, etc. All because of a troll post that was taken in completely the wrong direction by your persons.
However, this has gone on for over twenty four hours. We’re all adults here, let us lay down our wind up sticks and be civil. I understand my first post is a troll post, and I do very much understand the concept was to wind somebody up. It should have ended there, however it didn’t.
We’re adults, time to call it a day.
On a serious note, however. I appreciate the work you do here, it’s nice to see a website dedicated to something that a lot of people love. If I go to a gig, I might submit my opinion of it. We’ll see, anyway.
Thank you, Dux. I understand that people (including me) reading your first post may have taken it to heart a little too much. Criticism can be a great thing, and I take on board that you didn’t mean it in a malicious way. I mean, maybe it was a little *too* harsh, but whatever, its over.
Thank you for writing your own review, also. This isn’t a site where people take digs at gramatical errors, or any other error made for that matter. We appreciate all posts.
I would like to thank you for the kind words. We have lots more to go up in the next week. If you would like to see a review/interview with a band that you like that are playing locally, then let us know? We would try our best to get this for you.
Take care people.
Great photo.
Good to see a proper debate here!
Dux:
We don’t want this just to be one of those sites with powder-puff positive reviews. We want it to be where people are honest which is why we were happy to print Debra’s review, and we’re more than happy to see your comments, since they’re constructively critical.
I echo Josh: feel free to submit your own review for any gigs you go to. It won’t be a question of anyone breathing down your neck, rather us all wanting to build something here: we want a community where people are passionate.
So, let us know if you want to contribute. And that goes for anyone else out there reading this!
And needless to say, we wish good luck in the future to all of the bands reviewed here.

A single paragraph for each band? A pitiful attempt at reviewing, I’m afraid to say. Name dropping doesn’t make you’re terrible attempt any better, either.
This ‘review’ is bad, and you should feel bad.
